BET HIP HOP AWARDS '08

OK so once again i seem 2 be late then a mufucka, but i literally JUST saw the BET HIP HOP AWARDS.

Over All it was good, the highlight was def. CORY GUNZ in the fuckin cipher i am SOOOO happy to see people with genuine talent putting effort into their lyrix!! so peace to Cory Gunz again.

T-Pain hosted which was apparently a last minute thing, and man as much as i dont want 2... I LIKE THIS NIGGA! lol he seems cool and he actually had me laughin alot, so peace 2 T-Pain as well. Lil wayne not surprisingly won like EVERY fuckin award they had 2 offer. So there wasnt much suspense or interest in who was gonna win what, if he was in the category.

Uncle Russ was honored (and rightfully so, he is soo down 4 us yall!) and my favorite part of the show... THE LADIEESSS , YO-YO, LYTE, SALT N PEPA AND THE LADY OF RAGE (whose afro puffs still rock quite ruff btw). took the stage and ripped it and reminded me how much i miss female MC's!! ...HINT, HINT ,LADIES!! lol

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY WE AS THE HIP HOP COMMUNITY TOOK IT UPON OURSELVES TO USE THIS MOMENT, WATCHED BY & INFLUENCING MILLIONS, AS A PLATEAU 2 STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING 4 CHANGE IN THIS COUNTRY WE CALL OUR OWN!

Hiatus complete

OK I aint been around 4 a while...sry i just aint had shit 2 blog about. call me slackin...

but anyway during my hiatus, i saw MIRACLE @ ST. ANNA'S with my sister Lady Dai, The always beautiful Nannette Lovette, and a few of her friends, Janine, Keiarra, & Tenacia...oh & Janine's brother Kesed fell thru in the middle of the flick too.
Once we got settled in and the lights began to soak in2 the darkness, Janine turned to us & said "are u ready 2 have ur lives changed??" man, i didnt kno how serious that question was!

It's a Spike Lee Joint, & he always does the damn thing...AS U ALREADY KNOW. but this had a different feel from his usual flix (in a good way) the cast was dope, the story was very innovative (a spike staple) and without giving away too much i'ma hit u with this trailer and tell yall to check it out nex time u and the movie theatres collide!! 4 real (and then go vote ! =])



but one thing i could've done without was this uppety ass boojee chick, CALLING THE USHER ON US! and then confronting us in front of the theate TALKING about how WE R THE REASON SHE is seen in a negative light when she goes on fucken job interviews! (i didnt see a realistic correlation either) basically she was saying that we are perpetuating stereotypes and the rest of the typical disgruntled past generation's complaints of young people now a days...MANNN LISTEN young people in groups watch flix and have fun, we're not golden aged married couples goin 4 a matinee showing, we young people having a good time! fall back seriously, any group of kids regardless of their race would've had the same experience we had together, so the fact that ur attributing our "yacking" as she put it, to the fact that we're black is proof that the reason we're still bound to such stereotypes, is largely in part to small minded hypocritical entitites like urself Ms. Lady [UGH]

but once again great flick lol.

Ok so apparently there's this new, stupid, yet strangely amusing thing goin on, on youtube called getting "Rick Rolled" and apparently it's INFURIATING some people! lol

i personally couldn't stop laughing cuz it was so weird! I found it looking 4 GTA IV videos 2 see if it was worth buying or not and well...

Ok 4 all my Jersey dwellers, the last day to register to vote is october 14th!! i repeat the last day 2 register to vote is on OCTOBER 14TH. to register to vote u just go to ur town hall (every city and town has got 1) and ask 4 a voters registration at the front desk, you could either fill it out on the spot or go home and handle ya biz, after that u mail it in and wait 4 ur regisration card, which MUST BE PRESENT when u get to the booth!!! and also i jus wanted to whisper that YOU CANNOT wear any clothes (shirts, hats, buttons, etc.) bearing the likeness, slogans, or simply signifying your support 4 ANY candidates or political parties.

ok now down 2 the bidness and hand- lol

not even 2 be preachy or sound like a PSA, but straight up, short & sweet, do it (register) b4 McCain ends up runnin ur life, croakin out next year and then PALIN dictates the direction our society goes in.

This is like some1 offering you a brand new car, THERE'S NO REASON NOT 2 TAKE IT!! and if u dont take it,

A. you'll be walkin and making your own journey alot harder to navigate.(i mean idk about u but i'd rather get a ride than walk anyday)

B. ur gonna be kickin urself when u see homeboy who capitalized on the oppurtunity straight coastin past yo dumb ass...

Hip Hop Honors '08

ok this year's hip hop honors was bittersweet

The Sweet: They Honored 2 of my favorite acts of all time, Naughty (by Nature) & Ricky (D), Tracy Morgan was the host again (he's an acquired taste, but he does it 4 me) Busta performed in full Slick Rick attire and Ricky had the biggest (and shineiest) smile i'd ever seen him flash when he saw how Bus went all out 4 the performance. & Ghost (one of my favorite and most slept on rappers in the game) came out and did "Lodi Dodi" wit the diabolical (Biz Markie) on the beat box. The only down side was Fabolous and Dana Dane. I mean Fab did more than i expected, he put the little accent on and all of that which was cool i guess, but Dana was Playin FAB'S FUCKIN HYPE MAN!!! BLASPHEME!! lol [ & side bar- was it me or did Too Short seem TOTALLY unenthused, & almost dissapointed by his tribute??]

But CypressHill's & De La Soul's tributes and performances were great, tho, no complaints here.

And Now....The Bitter: Being from Jersey I LOVE NAUGHTY BY NATURE they basically put us on the fuckin map, so when i realized NOBODY from jerz was gonna honor them i was tight (then i realized me and my man Skeeno are the only rappers from Jerz i kno lol) then when i saw how JUELZ SANTANA Butchered that shit i was furious, Now i may not be a fan of dipset but they are doing a few things in P-Town for the community, which i always appreciated especially since they aint from there, but YO you aint kill this 1 Pop... And like, why Juelz?? there's nothing "Naughty by Nature-esque" about him why not somebody like Eminem who's expressed an appreciation 4 them and whose influence Naughty's had on them is evident... or Joe Budden a JERSEY MC?! ugh...anyway Big Boi did ite he aint kill it like he could've neither but at least he remembered the words.

But on the flip, Wyclef... I liked. For 1 he's a Jersey head so it just felt right, and his rendition of "No Woman, No Cry" interwined with "Ghetto Bastard" (both sampling the same Bob Marley song sharing it's title with the former)was perfect.

But they saved the best 4 last... cuz When Naughty Got On Stage??!! That crowd aint never been so hyped! even the security was bobbin they fat ass muscle heads! lol and i had a smile on from ear to ear singing along to every joint.

Now, Jersey aint been on the map in a long time but Naughty proved that we have made some of the illest shit this game has ever seen, and they inspired the FUCK outta me last night, so look out world i think we just might be back on the come up...
